Observed this past weekend in Lemont, Ill. at the ASA Metros tournament. Over eager father single-handedly closes down softball field. Apparently this father arrived at park and didn't like the condition of the field. This jackass took it upon himself to remedy the situation. He found a nearby garage open and proceeded to carry two bags from the garage. He found a wet spot and poured a bag on it. the bag did not contain any fast drying material. Instead it contained neon yellow/green pellets. Did this stop him? No, he then poured out the second bag and spread around to soak up the puddle. Shortly thereafter it was determined what he had poured onto the girls softball field was a highly toxic highly concentrated pesticide. the fire department was called. They determined that HAZMAT had to remove the substance. After the dirt was removed the field had to be hosed down and left for a minimum of 12 hours. First time I've ever seen a field closed by police tape. Thanks Dad!!!!! By the way, this guy is also one of those toxic parents that criticizes the coaches, players, fields and everything else in sight. To all you toxic dads: sit down; shut up; watch the game; leave; and discuss the game with your lucky family on the way home. I'm sick of being subjected to your kind.
