Just came from Redbirds website seems to be up and working, I believe they are out of Crown Point/Schereville area and the kids are from Indiana. They have made alot of changes and will be back for the 2010 season.

I80traveler sounds like you are very informed about the 13u and 14u Redbirds. Especially there hot head coaches as you stated. So I take it your son is no longer a player for the Redbirds. I did a little research myself and the Redbirds were formed in 2005. Wow, five years of hot headed coaches keeping the team together, they must be doing something right. As we all know teams are going to have some good years and some bad.
Good Luck Redbirds in your 2010 season.

You say that you heard the older team broke up. If you would have googled Redbirds 14u, you would have noticed the 2010 roaster.

Who are the top 13 & 14 year old players from the Munster, Highland area?

There have got to be some good players in their travel programs. What about Chesterton, Valpo area?

I think there are alot of extremely talented players in the area, but they are spread out across a bunch of teams, so there is not one "great team" in the area, but several good ones.

Okay I am dying. I can't hold it in any longer. The Region Redbirds 14U team has had a new roster every year that they have played. Yes, they have had a couple of guys stick it out through the last 5 years. BUT, overall Tony Olund has recruited from all over the state including Illinois. He does not have a good reputation and he will sacrifice anything to win a game. Even if it means a 13 year old throwing 45 curve balls in one game. Watched it with my own eyes and talked to the kid after the game when his arm was dangling like a noodle. So if you want your kid to kick ;( and win games at 14 years old and be finished possibly before his high school career, play for the Region Redbirds.
